Areko is a private biotechnology company with its headquarters in Prague and the research and production centre is in Benátky nad Jizerou. Areko was founded in 1993 and was initially involved in the development of large industrial turnkey technologies. However, in 1997 Areko developed a mixture of biologically active phospholipids, which is protected by the manufacturing know-how and the trademark BAF®. Since 1998, we have been primarily engaged in the research, production and sale of potential pharmaceuticals and food supplements.
Areko primarily focuses on products based on biologically active phospholipids. The company's main product is Ovosan, which has been successfully marketed as a food supplement since 1997. In addition to Ovosan, Areko has launched a number of other products that serve to improve and support general health. More recently, Areko's research and development has focused on next-generation products in order to boost immunity and support patients during their burdensome treatment for cancer or autoimmune diseases such as psoriasis.
The Areko team brings together a wide range of professionals with many years of experience in drug development and food technology as well as scientists with a focus on clinical biology and an experienced sales team which consists of medical doctors and nutrition experts.
